This is really cool for anyone who likes to play. You have to take time to get used to how to position this, but it does work well and is fun.

I bought this magnifier for my Grandpa who likes to read but can't see the print. I thought he could just lay this on the page and everything would be magnified. Not the case. You have to hold it up to find the perfect angle to read the page. And let's face it, if you're old enough to need a magnifier you aren't going to be strong enough to hold it in one position while you read a book. He kept fiddling with it, getting more and more frustrated, and then handed it back to me and said "this is never going to work". Thanks goodness Amazon offers easy returns.

This tool magnifies as expected, it's not too floppy. If you think you'll have trouble holding the lens about an inch or so above the surface to be magnified you may want to look at a magnifier with a hands-free support base.

This product features great, clear magnification, but is only useful if you can hold the product still from 4 to 10 inches away from the page you're reading for an extended period of time. I do not do much reading at the table or on flat surfaces, so it was not very useful and I returned it. I'm still looking for a product that will help me read books in bed, and unfortunately this wasn't it. I would recommend this product if you read the newspaper, or would like something to help pay the bills that's not a small magnifier, and if you have a steady hand. I will continue to buy Bausch & Lomb for all of my optical needs.
