Product Description In this Carcassonne expansion, players have the opportunity to build upwards! The lords of the region around Carcassonne erect towers to strengthen and promote their power and influence. They employ followers to stand guard on the towers, watching over the land so they can inform their lords of all who travel and move throughout the area. Players may capture opponents followers, holding them in prison. Later, the players may arrange a prisoner exchange, to the advantage of the players involved. Also, a player may arrange to pay ransom for the return of an imprisoned follower. Fans of Carcassonne will enjoy the new tactical opportunities offered by this expansion. The expansion also includes a special tower for storing the landscape tiles, giving players a convenient way to draw tiles during the game.

Nice Addition September 4, 2010 Chris A It changes the game up enough to bring a new experience. Our group doesn't really like the dragon mechanics, but seem to really enjoy the Tower's ability to remove meeples.
IMPORTANT: I would recommend that this game be played with more of the expansions, and just not the base game. I say this because there at 18 towers tiles and they can cover a lot of space to capture which results in not having many safe places to put your meeples. Of course this could be good or bad depending on what you're after.
RULES: The rule book is nice, but a few things are left to question and house rules were needed for us. One problem in particular occurred with using this along with the Bridges, Bazaars, and Castles.
Overall, it adds a lot of new tiles, a different mechanic, and is of the same good quality of the rest.
Best Expansion March 31, 2010 Johnny C (baltimore, md) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best expansion game for Carcassonne. It adds an aggressive, offensive element to the game that the vanilla version was lacking. I like this game much better now.
Taking strategy up a level January 22, 2010 Julia Hosea (DeKalb, IL, USA) I bought the original Carcassone game last year for myself and for my 13-year old grandson. We had so much fun together! Then I gave him the Traders extension and that was good too. But the Tower extension is the best. There are more options for moves, and requires strategic thinking. I gave my second grandson the original Carcassone and the Tower Expansion this year. It's the family game now.
Great alternative to Wii or Playstation. January 22, 2010 Robbyn M. Paradis (Massachusetts) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the only thing that brings my three boys (ages 16, 14, and 12) together where they are on a level playing field and they play for hours together. What else could a mother ask for? They enjoy the strategy, it helps with critical thinking and they spend time together getting to know each other. Friends come over for the first time to play and they are hooked. Great game.
Good expansion January 19, 2010 D. Pierre 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a good addition to the original game. It adds another dimension of interaction. The guys liked it better than the girls.
